Tiburons sold in the United States were not equipped with immobilisers by default. As for other markets, depending on the equipped engine, either SMARTRA was used (1.6 and 2.0 engines) or Hyundai's in-house solution (2.7). The in-house solution is simply called "Standalone" in the workshop manuals.

SMARTRA (SMARt TRansponder Antenna) is a passive challenge-response immobiliser system developed for HMC (Hyundai Motor Company) by Bosch. On the GK platform, version 2 is used, called SMARTRA2.
