2.7L V6 Valvetrain
The purpose of this article is to explore other valvetrain options using stock components from other makes and/or models. Now that Ferrea no longer sells a complete kit we need to look to other options. For camshafts please see Camshaft Specifications.
Valve Springs
The following table assumes you use the OEM valve retainer and keepers and maintain the OEM 34.5mm installed spring height. Stock lift is 8mm and lift of the commonly used Crower .349-.351" regrind is 8.9mm.

Valve Spring Retainers & Keepers/Locks
Our OEM retainers and keepers are meant for a ~17.50mm I.D. valve spring. The keeper angle is 9 degrees for a 6mm valve stem. There are several retainers that look like they might fit our motor but you may run into mismatched keeper angles, valve stem diameters or incorrect keeper grooves on the valve stems. For example a BC2220[6] Titanium retainer may appear like a perfect match but it has a 7 degree keeper angle.
