There are two types of EEPROMs used across this range known as 2MBit and 4MBit (or 256Kbytes and 512Kbytes). There are 5 major variants of this ECM. These variants can be identified by the 5WY designation under the SIEMENS logo here:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* 5WY14 - 2MBit family w/o CVVT 2002-2003&lt;br /&gt;
* 5WY16 - 4MBit family w/ CVVT 2004-2006 MT&lt;br /&gt;
*5WY41 - 4MBit family w/ CVVT 2004-2006 AT&lt;br /&gt;
*5WY19 - 4MBit family w/ CVVT 2007-2009 MT&lt;br /&gt;
*5WY1A - 4MBit family w/ CVVT 2007-2009 MT&lt;br /&gt;
*5WY44 - 4MBit family w/ CVVT 2007-2009 AT&lt;br /&gt;

The vehicle chassis code, year, region and engine type can be found on the right of the label:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* N - Region. N is North American&lt;br /&gt;
*C - BETA 2.0 CVVT (0 is BETA 2.0 non-CVVT)&lt;br /&gt;
* 4 - 2004 year (3 = 2003, 4 = 2004, 5 = 2005, etc. etc.)&lt;br /&gt;
* G - GK model&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
There is a date code just above the barcode which identifies the date which it was flashed. The dates are written as &amp;quot;DAY.MONTH.YEAR&amp;quot; with the following examples:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* 07.05.03 - May 7th 2003&lt;br /&gt;
* 21.08.03 - August 21st 2003&lt;br /&gt;
* 29.08.07 - August 29th 2007&lt;br /&gt;
